LifeStream Artists to Display at Art Show

Their love of creating art was the inspiration behind an event to showcase the creativity and talent of the many artists attending LifeStream day services. Their work will be on display at the New Bedford Art Museum on Thursday, September 8th starting at 3:00 p.m. An opening reception will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

“Art projects have always been a favorite pastime for individuals in our various day programs,” said Den DeMarinis, LifeStream’s Director of Day Services. “Whether it be painting, illustration, making something from scratch – they are just so enthusiastic. The art show is a way of sharing this creativity with the public, as well as shining a light on what individuals with physical and developmental disabilities are able to accomplish.”

DeMarinis also noted that the September 8th art show will be held on the same day as New Bedford’s monthly AHA (Art, History, Architecture) night which provides a free platform for New Bedford’s creative community to showcase their talents collectively. “We’re so pleased that we’re able to tap into the AHA energy and be active participants in New Bedford’s creative community.”

Artwork by day program participants will be on display at the New Bedford Art Museum through Friday, September 16th.
