The Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund: Hiring Incentive Training (HIT) Grant

Program Details

• The Hiring Incentive Training Grant Program is open to all employers. It provides training grants of up to $2,000 per employee and up to $30,000 a year per company. This program assists in paying training costs for newly hired employees who have been unemployed over a year and those that do not have a call back date from their last employer.
• LifeStream, Inc. is a training provider for the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund.

Criteria

The Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund reviews grant applications against specific criteria. A few of the requirements for businesses include:

• The company must pay into the Workforce Training Fund
• New-hire trainees must be Massachusetts residents
• Employee must be a permanent hire (not seasonal)
• Employee must be paid regular wages while in training
• All training is job-related
• Training will start within six months of grant award
• Training will last no longer than 12 months
• All trainees are employed in Massachusetts
